"It isn’t as bad as you sometimes think
it is. It all works out. Don’t worry. I say that to myself every
morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work
out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence
in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. …
If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live
worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers." - Gordon B.

Okie State Fair
So maybe I got a little carried away at the state fair...
I was reeeally excited to try out our new camera.
Major photo vomit ahead!
Obviously we had a crazy good time at the fair on Saturday.
There was a lot of "healthy" food and plenty of people watching.
Here in Oklahoma you can get oodles of both.
I'm still learning how to do the best editing I can on iPhoto.
I'll definitely be asking for Photoshop come Christmas!
Oh, and in case you didn't know... click on the photo to zoom :)

Emmys
Fashion Favorites from The Emmys:
Jane Levy Jessica Pare Heidi Klum
Leslie Mann Kerry Washington Ginnifer Goodwin
If I had to choose a favorite I definitely go with Ginnifer.
That dress is gorgeous.
I thought Jimmy did a fantastic job! Overall the show was fantastic.
So excited for all of the fall premieres...
Go get you some Netflix and catch up before they start!

telegrams
It was a good week.
It pretty much revolved around desserts.
Pumpkin cookies, caramel squares, gelato...
They bring me such joy. If only I knew how to stop.
We drove to the city and bought a reeeally nice camera.
Jake had a rough time flying this week,
the stress is leaving him a bit tense and frustrated.
Which is not Jake. Hopefully this week will be easier for him.
But we managed to enjoy the weekend anyway, playing games,
roasting s'mores and going to the state fair!
Lots of fun fall activities ahead, first up... my birthday.
Twenty Four. My two favorite numbers.
1. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies. Fluffy, soft.. the perfect recipe.
2. V and I up at the crack of dawn and we're soo happy about it :)
3. Maizey's play date with Pyper! She's treated like a queen there.
4. Trying to make up for the treats by eating spinach for lunch.
I top it off with some Honey crisp Apples and Blush Wine Vinaigrette.
5. My early birthday present. It will never leave my side.
6. We finally made it! So gorgeous. A detox for my soul.
7. Petting Zoo at the Fair, including deer and a wallaby.
9. Game night! Telestrations is the best game. Buy it now.

Throwback Thursday
One year ago today my mom drove me to Shelly, Idaho.
I thought we were running errands but I was there for a puppy ambush.
Sitting at this small grocery store was a mother and her son holding a little fluff ball.
My mom had seen a Craigslist ad for a puppy and without asking any questions, she bought her.
I held this tiny feisty pup, and thought, what the heck just happened?
A year later, I couldn't imagine life without her.
I know, I know, she's a dog... but she's my best friend and she brings us so much joy.
I can only imagine what having a real child will feel like!
Thanks for the best birthday present ever mom.

Rebel
Look into the lens. Get lost in it's beauty.
Jake and I have been talking about getting a new camera for years.
Well, I've been talking, Jake's been listening.
My dad's old Nikon is lovely but man is it fickle.
So today when we realized Jake had an empty schedule,
we took off for the city and went a little crazy.
Nothing like an early birthday gift to turn a pity party upside down!
It's black, it's beautiful, it's sleek, and I'm a little afraid of it.
I've never bought anything this nice for myself.
Fantastic pictures coming soon!
Ahhh!

Movie Monday
On tedious days like this I'm really glad I have YouTube.
Teen Witch, anyone?
I'm pretty sure we've watched the part with the
"Michael Jackson Korean Kid Wonder" twenty times.

telegrams
This week was a slow one.
Hence the lack of instagrams.
Nick won Bachelor Pad.
That was bizarre and uncomfortable.
Parenthood started. That was probably the highlight of the week.
Then it started to rain... it rained a lot.
Jake left for his cross country this weekend,
he went to New Mexico and Utah.
I had a lovely weekend with the girls, indulging in crafts
romantic comedies and sweets.
1. Football watching with snuggle muffin.
2. Homemade Cheesecake Factory. Yum.
3. Jake leaving for Cross Country.
4. RIP Polar Bear.

Throwback Thursday
Sometimes my sister writes nice things about me on her blog.
So I'll do the same.
Lauren lives in Wilmington and last month she FINALLY started
her film program. I couldn't be more excited for her!
Not only is she doing that but she's working
and fulfilling her call as Relief Society President.
Basically she's a rock star.
p.s. Lauren, nice hair clips...

Reba
Remember that little gelato place I told you about?
Well we went again. This time we took Rockin Red Reba.
We fit right in with the locals...it was amazing.
I'll definitely be back for the pear and rhubarb
...and maybe tomorrow for the peach.
Eleven years ago I was in an early morning piano class,
when my mom rushed in and broke the news to my teacher and I.
Our country was under attack. I sat in shock and awe that something like this
could happen. Watching the attacks happen on tv seemed like some cruel joke.
It was unbelievable.
At thirteen years old, I thought the world revolved around me
and my boy problems. That day, everything changed.
I'm grateful for the firemen, policemen and soldiers
that fight every day to protect our freedom and safety,
and for the loved ones who stand beside them.

Movie Monday
In case you missed it.
Fall may be my favorite season but it does have one small fault.
Football.
Look, I have no problem with the sport. I enjoy going to football games, I even begged to play with the boys back at Sunnyside Elementary and told the teach when they wouldn't let a girl on the team.
But.
Men are WAY too passionate about it.
I get that girls have their reality shows, and their "Project Runway" that they get into,
but I don't take it personally. They do. It's emotional for them.
It's like they're a part of the team.
I mean Jake has never even attended BYU, but its in his blood.
He lives for it. He was counting down months in advance.
And honestly, I'm happy for him, but when his team isn't doing well, it's very difficult to be in the same room.
So, when our Alma mater was neck and neck with his least favorite team...
Things were getting ugly.
Luckily I found out moments before our DVR caught up that we were going to win.
So I caught his reaction on tape.
If only he'd get this passionate about my fall wardrobe...

telegrams
It was a very lazy week.
I didn't go to the gym once. Whoops...
But we had a lovely weekend.
Jake spent way too much money at P.F. Changs
and I spent way too much money on clothes.
Not actually, I spent just enough :)
1. How we spent our anniversary, making our favorite
Apricot Chicken with Strawberry Lemonade... yum.
2. One of my anniversary presents! Jake booked a massage for me.
I was surprised to say the least... I guess this boy is starting to learn.
(He also wrote me a song. Something I've been begging for since we started dating.)
3. We have the best little gelato shop right outside of town,
homemade and fresh every day!
4. Nap time on the new pillow.
5. First chowder of the season... tastes like fall.

Flashback Friday
I'm obsessed with old photos.
I found these of my grandpa Baty and my dad while I was
rummaging through my grandparents house last month.
Isn't my dad a cutie? And my grandpa... such a stud.
Black and white photos are so beautiful.
I wish we took more pictures like this.

A Day at the Park
Last Sunday, we took our niece and nephews to the park.
It's becoming a bit of a tradition.
It was super hot but those Texas kids don't care.
We sort of like them.
Thanks for all the Anniversary wishes!
