Temple Day

What a great afternoon. Jake and I traveled down to Idaho for the sealing of my two very best friends Ally and Isaac.
I can't believe how grown up we all are! I'm very very excited to spend the summer with them...
And this little girly. She's coming soon!

Butter Bars and Leaping Lizards

Our last military parade has come and gone... can't believe how much little Jakey has grown up! He's graduating ROTC and becoming a legit officer!

They're the three best friends that anyone could have...
 They're lovely aren't they..?
don't know why I'm looking so awkward and chubby, but we'll ignore it. The end of college is here everyone, and these two suckers are headed off into the real world. Well, soon enough... Last day of college, here I come.

3M

Here is a little sneak peek for those of you who could not make it to The Three Musketeers! I really had a fun time creating the wigs and hats (oh, and all of them wore wigs... minus two. That's a lot of hair. Sweaty and nappy hair.) I still can't believe how quickly it came and went. Thanks to all of those who traveled to come support me. It meant a lot. No really, it did. Mum... Dah... I luu you.

A Review

What a long day... So glad Portfolio Review comes but once a year. Very gratifying though, I can't believe how far I've come in one year. See ya UST! It's been fun slash exhausting.

Job Well Done.

Jakey is a happy clam.
This boy is finished with all of his class projects!

Next step... graduation and commissioning:)

So proud of you darling!

Shrew.

I guess you could say I've been a bit of a "shrew" this week. I've really let the stress of finals get to me and in result of that I've been dragging slowly all week with wretched stomach pains and migraine headaches. Great thinking Courtney, just lovely. Because where does stressing that much get me? Paralyzed most of the week and writing a 5 page paper on ONE Shakespeare word in a couple of days. Why didn't you get this done months ago? Why did you choose to cram this all in a weekend? A memorized speech and a word study paper? Really? Blah. It'll all be over soon though... I just need to channel Ms Elizabeth Taylor for two, maybe three days? Yeah, that'll do it.

On a lighter note... it's Easter this weekend. I loveee Easter. I cant wait to prep and pretty Jake's Easter basket, dye pretty little eggs, watch Water for Elephants, and make this delicious dessert. I think it's becoming my favorite holiday.

HD

Today is... HD day! Jake has been waiting for this all year. No seriously, he's been pining after a new receiver for-ev-er! And today is the day. I must admit... it looks quite amazing.

2 weeks

As we close on our last two weeks of Utah State I can't help but be overwhelmed by all of the things I'll miss. So to help me cope, I've turned my attention to those things I will NOT miss.

Here is number one...

The B lot. I LOATHE this part of campus. It's always a pain to get to, impossible to get out, and there is never a spot. Students are vultures, stalking the lanes, waiting for any sign of activity. I will admit that I've been near tears in this place from being SO frustrated with selfish people. In conclusion, B lot... I will not miss you in the slightest. In fact, I think I will run around on the last day of class and egg every car in attendance and last but not least the exit gate.

"Balls, balls, I LOVE balls!"

Oh I've had quite the jam packed couple of days. My mum, brother and sister came to down from IF yesterday, we went to The Three Musketeers and ate plenty of unhealthy food. I showed them around the costume shop, the theatre and the all too amazing costume storage room. I don't realize how amazing it really it until I show people that have never seen it. I am going to really miss being around the Theatre Dept and all it's wonders. It's been one crazy ride but boy was it fun.
Today I had an opportunity to do a "special musical number" with my mum (meaning she played for me while I sang). I haven't done that in years! It was so scary but so really... exhilarating. I forget how much I love to sing. It's sad that I let fear get in the way of doing so many things that I love. Anyway, we had a great time together. It meant a lot to me that they took that much time to come see us and my work. Love you guys!

P.S. I found out that "The Hunger Games" is being filmed in Wilmington NC. Exactly where my sister is living. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So jealous.

I want.

I love sales at Anthropologie. This dress was made for me I'm sure of it....
Oh how I wish there was a magical money fairy that would buy me this fantastic Graduation Dress. (ahem, dad its only 70 dollars and I'm a size 8)

Constance, I hate you.

Yesterday was an interesting one... First Dress usually is. For anyone who thinks Theatre majors are lazy and are only out to have fun and dilly dattle (yes I said dilly dattle) YOU'RE WRONG! Don't get me wrong we have plenty of fun a long the way, but putting on a show is freaking hard work. Yeah, most people don't know that. They're probably the same people who give ten percent tips at restaurants.

So as you've probably guessed I've been hard at work doing our final show, The Three Musketeers. My little fingers have been hard at work sewing feathers to hats and putting curls in wigs. And as fun as it is... I cannot WAIT for it to be done. Graduation seems so close but so far away! I want summer to be here so badly. Oh, and thank you Logan for getting rid of the snow and giving me a bit of sunshine yesterday. It did not go unnoticed. Keep it up please.

Take me to Vegas

Missing this lovely girl about now...

I love Jacobs.

So last week I finished this heart wrenching series, and if you haven't read it... you must. I liked the Twilight series but this is sooo much better, and A LOT more realistic. Too realistic actually.

Anyway, to help me recover from the Mockingjay tragedy (above is the newly selected cast, not sure how I feel about them) I decided to dive right into this...

Loving it. Cannot wait to see the movie.

Slush.

Ohh man, I really hope this is my very last Utah spring.... I know I should be used to it, but it still gets old and irritating. Not to mention depressing.

This was the weather yesterday...

This is today... Stop PMSing Logan.

This is how Jake handles the weather...

Cruisin...

Now that I know I will be here all summer long, I've decided that I'm in desperate need of a bicycle...
Another item to tack on to the graduation wish list... can't you see me cruising through Logan on this beauty?

DATES!

Home again... I must say, Logan looks a lot greener today, which is pleasantly surprising because I was expecting snow. Idaho Falls was great. It went by quickly but we got in plenty of family and friend time, which was just was I needed! This month is going to be crazy town. 3 Musketeers, Easter, Finals, a little thing I like to call graduation and future planning... yikes. A month of school left. Now if the weather would just jump to the seventies and stay there, I might just have enough energy to survive.

As many of you already know, we FINALLY got our departure dates yesterday morning. I was not expecting it at all and when Jake got the call, I nearly vomited with anxiety and anticipation. The other pilots had received their MAY 9TH departure and I thought our fate would be the same, but nooooo.... we start training on SEPTEMBER 30TH! (that's my birthday) Whaaat? That's so late! And to top it off, Jake doesn't even start his actual program until May 2012? Uh...that's a full year after we graduate. So now I start freaking out. What in the world do we do from September to May? Do we have to do it in Oklahoma or can I just chill on some base in Cali for a while? Better yet, Hawaii? Oh and when are we suppose to have kids? This screws everything up.

So in an ideal world I probably would have a preferred a July or August date but September is MUCH better than next month. So now we're asking ourselves, what should we do for those five months? The possibilities are taking over my mind. The relief that came from finally knowing "our future" is now quickly replaced with "oh crap. five months is a long time. I need a job. I need a new apartment." Whatever happens, I am so thrilled to have these few months to attend every family holiday, see Al's baby, relax with my husband, and enjoy a summer at home. This next year will definitely be an interesting one... I know that no matter what happens, Heavenly Father has a plan for our family and ten years down the road I'll look back and realize why it happened this way. I just need to have patience. Easier said than done.
