The Young Victoria

Ohh how long I've waited to see this movie. I first saw ads for it in europe back in July! And now nearly a year later I've seen it. And it was lovely. Just as I thought it would be. Costumes were of course beautiful.  Emily... gorgeous. Rupert... dashing. I look at these dresses and wish I could have lived back then so I could wear them. And then I remember the corsets and change my mind. Maybe I'll just bring the flowers in the hair thing back. Because I think that's pretty great. Here's one of my favorite ensembles....

Project Runway

So in all my years of having a love affair with clothing I have never watched a complete season of Project Runway. Until now. And one word describes it... FABULOUS! I have really enjoyed watching all the contestants (that are real people) design and create such amazing clothes. There were a few designers that I loved but ultimately my heart belonged to Seth Aaron. Now I don't think I'd wear too many of his designs around Logan, but his attitude and consistency were quite admirable. (Don't let that punk rock look fool you.) He's not only a father and husband but a humble, down to earth guy. He never let the pressure or the competition get the best of him. And although I loved Emilo and Mila, I was truly hoping he'd take the cake. And.... HE DID! Here is one of my favorites from his collection shown during the finale. I am really excited for him and his family. It was an awesome show. Click here to watch it for yourself! Maybe one day (twenty years from now...) I'll pull a Mila and strut my stuff on TV. That'd be pretty great, right?

Stage Makeup Diary 3

Here are the latest Stage Makeup assignments... I recreated a 60's Audrey moment, and a crazy Restoration look. Enjoy :)

I'm not as pretty as her... I know.

Death Mask

So for our final project in Stage Makeup is to create a special effects project on our face, using a plaster mold. In order to do that I had to Vaseline my head, put a swim cap on and stick straws up my nose to breathe. Then... I get some Alginate poured on to my face. We had to cover it in paper mache and blow dry it on high heat. Pretty weird at first... I just hated the heat of the blow dryer. It made me pretty claustrophobic. The whole process takes about 30 minutes. I then had to pour Plaster of Paris into my mold and a few hours later... I have a hard copy of my lovely face! The end result is soon to come. Who will I become you ask..? Here's some clues. I live on Pandora, I fly big dragon-like flying horses around my planet.  I know you're struggling to figure it out. Don't worry.... you'll get it.

Military Parade

I've been finding that keeping up on my blog has been tough lately because NO ONE COMMENTS. But I'm going to do it anyway. For myself. Not you. You anti-commentors. Soo Last Thursday Jake had his end of the year military award ceremony. It's always a interesting experience with the drum music and the marching and the "squat" run the cadets do. They look constipated. It's great. Jake got an award for being a great leader, having academic standing and being married. Hola! So we're getting a nice check for that. Here's a picture from last years and this years. Yes I know I need to get my roots done.

Creepy.

Sooo Jake has been getting a lot of comments at work about this Nationwide commercial and how uncanny the resemblance is between him and "The World's Greatest Spokesperson." Wellllll he finally showed me what all the fuss was about and well.... it's creepy to say the least. So heres the video,  and may I just say, my husband is MUCH better looking. The End.
