Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve with the Harker family
was full of delicious Prime Rib, fancy White Elephant gifts
and... the stomach flu.
It's the Christmas gift that keeps on giving!
P/s did you notice how darling these kids are? Seriously.

The Cabin

How's your Christmas vacay going?
We're currently spending ours at The Kearns Christmas Cabin Extravaganza.
Oh ya.
Plus I have the stomach flu. Which is fun.

Counting Down

Ohh Idaho was a dream.
We'll miss the loud and squished car rides, the dance offs, the home video parties and doggie battles.
Now on to Christmas and New Years, Kearnsie style.
Late nights, card games, and hide and seek.
It's always a good time.

It's almost 2012! Whoa...

nativity

"Times change; years speed by; but Christmas continues sacred. In this marvelous dispensation of the fulness of times, our opportunities to give of ourselves are indeed limitless, but they are also perishable. There are hearts to gladden. There are kind words to say. There are gifts to be given. There are deeds to be done. There are souls to be saved."
Thomas S. Monson, “The Best Christmas Ever,” Liahona, Dec 2008, 2–6

Please have snow and mistletoe...

Made it to Idaho!
Barely.
Have I mentioned how much I hate traveling? Because I do.
I loath it in every way.
Car, plane, overnight train... I've done it all.
And life would just be so much easier if I could transport
my body to anywhere I wanted to go.
Wouldn't that be lovely?

Happy Birthday to my name twin. My sister.
She's gorgeous. She's got wicked style, and awesome bangs.
Love you Cordy!

I also love this little babe.
Her mom and I had a fantastic afternoon introducing
Reagan to her first H&M shopping experience.
She was a champ.

the freakin weekend

Twas a busy busy weekend.
Friday was date night at chilis
and Walking Dead in bed.
Saturday was play date with Hudson
Cleaning... cleaning... cleaning.
Utah State Aggies game and Ward Social, and a
Couples party with a hot chocolate bar and Scattergories!
Sunday was church and cute Sunbeams who love marshmellows.
Lots of spaghetti and left over donuts leads to napping and hot showers.
Ending the night with Kourtney and Kim.
Ohh how I hate Kim.

Sorry about the lack of photos... it keeps slipping my mind.
I cannot wait until Tuesday! I do hate flying alone...
but I'm looking forward to Panera in OKC and shopping with bestie.

Christmas in one week! Can't wait for some of this sibby action...

Christmas Crafting!

They're done...
They're snowy...
THEY'RE MASON JAR SNOW GLOBES!

Here is Anthropologie's version I saw last month.... Here is my version made last night.

My supplies, all bought at Hobby Lobby. I love those fifty percent discounts....
this project was less than five dollars to make and I'm happy with the way they turned out.
I molded some styrofoam to fit inside the jars, glued the trees in place, covered the base with crumbled styrofoam and tacky/glitter glue. Then I painted the trees with silver glitter glue and sprinkled them with the "snow" glitter. They looked perfectly frosted and fluffy! I added a few mini pinecones for extra cuteness.
These other Christmas crafts kept me pretty busy last week. I made some pinecone ornaments and garland. I just love pinecones..,
Then I attempted a no sew ruffle tree skirt. I had only enough fabric for half of the skirt and the hot glue was highly irritating... but it turned out okay for now. I'll try again next year :)

This morning Maze and I had a photo sesh. You're shocked, I know. She's just too cuteeeee.
Then Jake and I put up some sparkly snowflakes.
Our neighbors are all super into Christmas lights, so I attempted to do the same.
It was freeeezing but we did it! And we might do more tomorrow... watch out.

Happy Christmas folks!

Well, pucker up and kiss it, Whoville.

Tis the season... and I'm loving it.
Yes, the Christmas spirit has hit me hard.
Probably because I don't have school or work to distract me...
Jake and I went to Lowes and picked out our fresh cut Christmas tree.
It's a bit fuller than I like but she's still a beauty. Much more work to be done.
Tomorrow I will make some Mason Jar Snow Globes!
