A Day in Dallas

Have I mentioned how much fun we have with the Roses?
Marc works at the building above and we all went down to have lunch with him
and hang out at the new park in Downtown Dallas.
It was a beautiful day!

Tonight we find out our future...
My mom and sister came into town last night to take part in the festivities
and hang out for a few days.
The anxiety is almost too much to handle.
It's impossible to think about anything else!
Stay tuned :)

I am way behind on blogging.
It was a busy, busy week :)
Court made a spontaneous trip to Oklahoma,
we had so much fun!

Then we were off to Dallas for a lovely Thanksgiving.
Julie and Marc were perfect hosts as always,
we were once again sad to leave.
So excited to see them next month!

Peace

"Gratitude expressed to our Heavenly Father in prayer for what we have brings a calming peace-a peace which allows us to not canker our souls for what we don't have. Gratitude brings a peace that helps us overcome the pain of adversity and failure. Gratitude on a daily basis means we express appreciation for what we have now without qualification for what we had in the past or desire in the future. A recognition of and appreciation for our gifts and talents which have been given also allows us to acknowledge the need for help and assistance from the gifts and talents possessed by others."

--Robert D. Hales, "Gratitude for the Goodness of God", Ensign, May 1992, 63

This has been a very special Thanksgiving. I am very grateful for answered prayers, an incredible husband, and loving family and friends. We are so blessed.

A Kearns Thanksgiving

T'was a classic Kearns Thanksgiving.
The boys played their Turkey Bowl while the girls made their pies...
The babes were extra adorable.
The decor was planned to perfection, with fresh flowers arranged by yours truly!
The food was AMAZING and the pies... oh boy.

Black Friday was insane to say the least. 8 hours of shopping and my body completely gave out. (no seriously I vomited twice). It was a first. I couldn't even gather the energy to enjoy Ikea the next day...
The doggies Little Maizey and Boxer Tag became fast friends...
The crazy adults got together for authentic BBQ and crazy laser tag.

It was a splendid holiday. After being marooned in OK for months, it was amazing to
be with our family again. Under one roof. For days. We definitely took it for granted before.
Now I'm slowly recovering from it all... back to real life.
Both of us caught colds over the weekend, so I'm having a hard time not being extra lazy,
or even getting in the shower...
or getting off the couch...
Good thing it's Cyber Monday.
LET THE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING BEGIN!!!!

Snow Day

Soo as most of you know yesterday was "the blizzard of the century." We had most of our classes cancelled and the university itself shut down at 2 pm. Pretty exciting! So Jake and I decided to enjoy our possible last meal on the earth at Olive Garden and went to Walmart to stock up on our snow day supplies. Well being sick to our stomaches from our OG meal we ended up leaving with Jello and fruit snacks. We love to be prepared. The rest of the night consisted of a bubble bath, movies, Yahtzee, jello jigglers, Chik-fil-A, cleaning, etc etc... it was a lovely evening. I love snow days!

Early Thanksgiving

This weekend we got together with the Kearns family and had a early Thanksgiving. It's been fantastic to say the least. Us girls were in the kitchen all day long yesterday, baking all sorts of delicious creations. I was in charge of sweet potatoes and pumpkin crumble. I love having two Thanksgivings... so today I am grateful for food. Lots and lots of good food.

Cookin, cookin

Ohh how I'm grateful for my Kearns sisters. I don't get a whole lot of "girl" time in Logan so coming to Draper and seeing late night chick flicks with the girls and cooking for hours the next day is a breath of fresh air. They are all examples to me in so many ways, so lucky to have married into such a fantastic family. Missed you Julie and A2!

Here are some things I love about them...
Smash: such a fantastic cook and mother, if I ever need advise on anything, I call her. In fact I basically want to be her when I grow up. Hilarious. Soo cute. Witty.

Nancy: raised 7 incredible children, beautiful, strong, card maker, great cooker, swim teacher, wonder woman. Dare I say more?

Courty: the sister with my same name. adorable, always dresses so cute, TP partner, craft music and fashion lover (like myself) best friend.

Melody: my gorgeous cousin. sweetest girl I know, so pretty and talented.

Ames: she has the biggest heart. she makes me laugh harder than anyone, (especially when her and Jake get together). she's always making the most of everything, always wears her heart on her sleeve, always herself no matter what.

Julie: Mother extraordinaire. Such an example of strength. She's lovely in every way, and so much fun to be around. Can't wait to move closer to them!

A2: Beautiful. So kind and sweet. An amazing mother and wife. She is a great example to me (since we basically chose the same life) we have so much in common, I really hope we end up in the same place someday!
