A Day in Dallas

Have I mentioned how much fun we have with the Roses?
Marc works at the building above and we all went down to have lunch with him
and hang out at the new park in Downtown Dallas.
It was a beautiful day!

Tonight we find out our future...
My mom and sister came into town last night to take part in the festivities
and hang out for a few days.
The anxiety is almost too much to handle.
It's impossible to think about anything else!
Stay tuned :)

I am way behind on blogging.
It was a busy, busy week :)
Court made a spontaneous trip to Oklahoma,
we had so much fun!

Then we were off to Dallas for a lovely Thanksgiving.

we were once again sad to leave.
So excited to see them next month!

Peace

"Gratitude expressed to our Heavenly Father in prayer for what we have brings a calming peace-a peace which allows us to not canker our souls for what we don't have. Gratitude brings a peace that helps us overcome the pain of adversity and failure. Gratitude on a daily basis means we express appreciation for what we have now without qualification for what we had in the past or desire in the future. A recognition of and appreciation for our gifts and talents which have been given also allows us to acknowledge the need for help and assistance from the gifts and talents possessed by others."

--Robert D. Hales, "Gratitude for the Goodness of God", Ensign, May 1992, 63

This has been a very special Thanksgiving. I am very grateful for answered prayers, an incredible husband, and loving family and friends. We are so blessed.

Lately

Oh hey...

Safe to say my blogging has been weak. I didn't even insta last week. What the...

But I'm finally over this cold which is lovely!

We got our drop sheet which was extremely exciting. (the list of our possible future assignments)

The two planes Jake wanted weren't on there, which was disappointing, but there are still several good assignments that we're pumped about.

So here's to hoping we get one of our top 3 choices!

I went and saw Twilight last weekend and actually enjoyed it! (minus the CGI baby, so awful)
I thought it ended very well. And I'm glad it's over.  Also, I got a scumbag kicked out of the theater for lighting up a cigarette. Honestly some people here...

We have a lot of fantastic things coming up, Court is in town for the week, Jake has only three flights left, and Thanksgiving in Dallas is only days away! Then we find out our assignment with my mom and mckell next weekend. No big deal.

Hope you are all doing well!

Cold Essentials

Every year the common cold sneaks into my
body and makes life miserable for a week or so.
It's inevitable.

Over the years I have discovered these products that
help me function normally and recover quickly,
so I thought I'd share them with you today!

Five Cold Essentials:

They taste great and instantly soothe your throat.
Drink twice daily to get rid of that cold faster!
Delicious peppermint and vanilla tea
that feels wonderful on your scratchy throat.
(add some cream and agave nectar to make it absolutely delicious)

 4. Mucinex D
Buy behind the counter at the pharmacy.
NOTHING clears your sinus like this does.

Cools your chappy dry lips and smells fantastic.

telegrams

It was a windy and weary week!
We got to spend some time with Jake's brother Griffin in OKC
which was unexpected and lovely!
Then it was election day which stressed me out to the max.
I blame it for the acne and the cold I had to deal with the rest of the week.
I had a nightmare of a dentist appointment and spent most
of the weekend indoors being moody and congested.
So Jake decided to get us out of the house and to Tulsa,
which I did not want to do at first, but we ended up having a good time!
We shopped and enjoyed wayyy too much free Veterans Day food.
I think we'll make it a tradition.

1. Election Rehab.
2. Making momma feel better.
3. Maizey, the cuddle queen.
4. Jake the spinner and cosmic winner.
5. Doggie pile.
6. Momma's Throwback
7. The Mount Vesuvius of Volcano Candles.
8. Freebies.

Doomsday

Today I will stay in bed and mourn the loss of a dream...
I always thought it was too good to be true.
But I couldn't help but get my hopes up.
I reeeally wanted to see what he could do for our country,
and I guess we'll never know.

I really didn't care too much about our current president
or politics in general before this election.
But now I must say bitterness and some slight loathing have
crept into this little heart of mine.

The world of politics is like Junior High. It's all a popularity contest.
Hence the reason Brian Warden won student body president.
And without sounding too dramatic, I'm pretty sure its the end of the world.
And no Mom it's not just because "you know who" won...
It's everything.

But we'll be okay regardless...
and even though things didn't turn out the way I wanted
I am soo glad to have it over with!
The stress yesterday was too much,
my face was breaking out like mad.
And now that's it all done...
I truly truly hope that "you know who" really
steps up and surprises us all.

Grub and Game Night

Grub and Game Night with 13-03 was long overdue!
I can't believe it has been a year since we started this
journey with such fantastic people.
It'll be a sad day when we all have to part ways,
but I'm so grateful I got to know these lovelies.

Fashion Friday

image via

Did you watch the CMAs last night?
I'm just loving Taylor's style lately.
She's growing up.

How about that awkward moment when Brad joked about her Kennedy boyfriend,
not knowing that they had just broken up? Yikes.
