Puppy Love

Happy Sabbath :)
We're trying to embrace this random Spring weather
and our last Sunday in this house.
In between all of the packing and cleaning
I managed to give Maize a new hair cut and she begged me
to take some photos with her so she could show it off.
She just loves attention...

Throwback Thursday

One year ago today my mom drove me to Shelly, Idaho.
I thought we were running errands but I was there for a puppy ambush.
Sitting at this small grocery store was a mother and her son holding a little fluff ball.
My mom had seen a Craigslist ad for a puppy and without asking any questions, she bought her.
I held this tiny feisty pup, and thought, what the heck just happened?
A year later, I couldn't imagine life without her.
I know, I know, she's a dog... but she's my best friend and she brings us so much joy.
I can only imagine what having a real child will feel like!
Thanks for the best birthday present ever mom.

A Day With The Dogs

Maize had lots of play time with pup pups today.
Our neighbors got an adorable Westipoo named Hazel
and when they first brought her home I thought Maizey escaped
because they look so much a like!

Later on we had dinner with the Cruzans who have a
feisty Yorkie named Belle. Belle is not a fan of Maizey.
Whenever they're around each other Belle makes the
most terrifying noises I've ever heard any creature make.
Today they turned a corner!
Frenemies for life.

demon dog

Maizey may seem like a sweet, innocent puppy...
But I assure you... she's not.
Oh, and last night the hellion laid down
on our bed and peed.
Right in front of us.
In three different spots.
My worst nightmare...

Maltibull

Maizey has been making lots of new friends lately.
The ones we are most proud of are the bulldogs Vince and Stella.
She has been terrified of them for a long time now, and last weekend she got over it!
Good girl that Maizzle.
She's cute and fluffy on the outside, but get her around a slobbery bulldog
and she can hold her own!
Stella (right) had red and pink marks all over her face from fluff's razor sharp teeth.
I wonder what a bulldog maltipoo mix would look like...

jet lag

exhausted.
like barely able to get out of bed exhausted.
then I remembered my computer and dvr patiently waiting for me
so I mustered up some spare energy.

every time I come back here it feels like some sort of strange deja vu.
but I'm enjoying the alone time and seventy degree weather.
today calls for lots of vitamin D, piano playing, and Christmas take down!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday... mine consisted of some of this.

H&M and White Chocolate Raspberry Bread Pudding... oh yes.

Tonight I will be recovering with a little Vampire Di and a Strawberry Daiquiri. Ohhh ya.  Naughty boy Jeremy is back ya'll!

the view from my sunset flight and the surprise that was waiting for me when I got home!

Ohh I love her... and tropical drinks... and trash TV.

snow pup

We woke up to snow yesterday. It was lovely.
Maizey enjoyed her first snowy experience... a little too much.
These were taken right before I let her off her leash and spent the next hour trying to retrieve her.
The word "COME" means nothing to her. We bribe her with treats, we look her in the eye and she just lies down. Or runs in the opposite direction. It's a lot of fun.

 2 weeks until I'm home!
Fort making... four wheel sledding... present opening. AH!

Christmas Crafting!

They're done...
They're snowy...
THEY'RE MASON JAR SNOW GLOBES!

Here is Anthropologie's version I saw last month.... Here is my version made last night.

My supplies, all bought at Hobby Lobby. I love those fifty percent discounts....
this project was less than five dollars to make and I'm happy with the way they turned out.
I molded some styrofoam to fit inside the jars, glued the trees in place, covered the base with crumbled styrofoam and tacky/glitter glue. Then I painted the trees with silver glitter glue and sprinkled them with the "snow" glitter. They looked perfectly frosted and fluffy! I added a few mini pinecones for extra cuteness.
These other Christmas crafts kept me pretty busy last week. I made some pinecone ornaments and garland. I just love pinecones..,
Then I attempted a no sew ruffle tree skirt. I had only enough fabric for half of the skirt and the hot glue was highly irritating... but it turned out okay for now. I'll try again next year :)

This morning Maze and I had a photo sesh. You're shocked, I know. She's just too cuteeeee.
Then Jake and I put up some sparkly snowflakes.
Our neighbors are all super into Christmas lights, so I attempted to do the same.
It was freeeezing but we did it! And we might do more tomorrow... watch out.

Happy Christmas folks!

sick and stuff

This cold is rockin my world folks.

I can't remember a time I slept well.

Longest week ever.

Our fridge broke. Melted ice cream everywhere.. We got a new one. That's a new dishwasher and a new fridge in a week!

But today...

Look familiar? Yeah it happens every time it rains. But it never gets old...

Maizey played with her new friend Piper today. She's a mini Labradoodle that looks like a brown shag rug. They had a crazy fun time chasing each other around the house.

I finally finished the Mason Jar Snow Globes. Pictures tomorrow!

Ankle Biter

Sometimes the fluffy muffy wakes me up at 8 am on a Saturday. Not cool. Specially when I was up half the night with a throat itching cold. This week was a long one...

So here I sit, listening to the rain (wishing it was snow) and staring at the Christmas tree. I think I'll go grab some donuts in my robe. Maybe I'll watch "Meet Me in St Louis" after that. I wish we had a Jamba in Enid. Orange Dream Machine would be real nice. I could home make it... I am, after all, a Orange Julius Master Mixer. So much for putting up Christmas lights outside. My house is a mess. Harry Connick really does have da best Christmas music. Michael Buble is pretty smashing as well. Maizey stop eating my purse. Maybe I'll go back to bed for a half an hour....

Lately Maze and I go for walks down to the park on base. No one is there because it's frizzin outside, so I let her off her leash and she loooves it.

Little wabbit, tricks are for kids.
a frothy white winter sky reminds me of home...

and don't forget to add the three best holiday ROMCOM's to your movie list!

1. The Holiday... duh   2. While you were sleeping.   3. Serendipity.

p.s. How cute are these two..? Seriously.
wittle sister is twitterpated!

Gandalf the Dog

Oh hello, remember me?
I've been MIA... hopelessly obsessed with decorating my living room aaand
I've been exhausted after dealing with Oklahoma's dumbest people all weekend.

Examples:
1. I had a consult with the world's most ridiculous chiropractor.
His office is in a strip mall. His waiting room hasn't been touched since the seventies.
(complete with blue shag carpet)
He was wearing polyester pants and a silk shirt with a matching toupee on top.
He spent the entire TWO HOURS telling me his political views on blood thirsty
Canadians instead of telling me how he'd fix my problems.
When I asked him what treatment involved, he laughed at me and said, "I don't know yet!"
He charged me $78.00 for the worst consult ever.

Lesson I learned: Do not trust the internet.

2. Jake was assigned the "VADD" phone (Vance Against Drunk Driving).
Making him a pathetic Designated Driver this weekend.
We thought that no one would call it. Since it's more of a last resort for idiots
stuck in an alcoholic wasteland. We didn't realize that Vance is full of idiots.
We received three phone calls in the middle of the night
Not only are you grown men, but you're OFFICERS.
If you're going to get wasted, walk home or call a taxi.
Your stupidity is not my responsibility.

Lesson I learned:
Academy Grads are Frat Boys.

3. Enid's Theatre on a weekend? A cestpool for white trash teenagers.
We went to a movie last night only to be surrounded by people
texting and talking (loudly) on their phones.
Then a group of hormones walked in yelling "Marco" and crackling their loud candy.
Why are people so oblivious to the world around them?
We left and got our money back.
Lesson I learned:
Do not go to the theatre on the weekend.
When I wasn't busy being frustrated, I painted our wall Hazy Slate grey.
I also watched our crazy pup play with a massive Labradoodle and pee all over our house.
Oh and there was an earthquake. It was crazy cool.

Hope you had a great weekend!

a sleeping pup

As much as this little pup drives us crazy... we are sure going to miss her.
She is seriously the cutest little fur ball ever created.
And I fear her adorable puppy features will be gone soon.

Disneyland in the morning!!
I'm giddy.
But tonight I think I'll enjoy some Bluebell Banana Pudding and Sixth Sense.
The creepy lady with the slit wrists makes Jake cry.

Mud.

Maizey was being a little poop yesterday.
Barking, biting, whining, peeing... twice.
I fell asleep reading The Dog Whisperer determined to make today a better day.
Maze and I awoke early and went on a lovely walk through our neighborhood.
The sun was rising, she was staying at my side, and the temperature was perfect.
I left her alone on her leash for a second and turned around to find her completely muddy,
Awww the joys of puppies.
Two days until Disneyland!

puppy ambush

Hey remember how I really wanted a puppy? Well I got one... no big deal.
How did this happen? My mother.
She ambushed me. It all happened so fast.
But I'm loving her...Crazy Maizey.
We celebrated by taking the fluff ball to a fancy lunch at 3's Company downtown.
They gave her some homemade dog treats and us a grilled peach (divine!)

Timing

What a day people. One of those days where nothing seems to go right.
Air force lost our travel vouchers which means we will not be receiving ANY money for another two weeks. No big deal stupid finance office, it's not like we're suppose to be moving into our house this week or buying a washer and dryer or you know, eating...

Buying this skirt definitely helped soothe the frustration.

But then, I found out that buying this puppy is impossible.

She was exactly what I wanted.
But it costs 500 dollars to bring her with me on my trip home this month.
And I can't leave her here for three weeks..soo I'll just have to find another puppy later on.
I was really bummed! Ahhh patience Courtney, I'm sure there is another perfectly adorable puppy waiting for you in good time.

Thursday just cannot come soon enough.
At least I have Bachelor Pad to make me feel better about life :)
hahaaaa that.is.so.sad.
