As long as we got eachother...

Hello real world... Have I mentioned how much I hate/love standby? I love it when Jake and I float right on to the plane and sit next to each other in first class, but I hate waiting hours for a flight that leaves without me. Especially when we're about to get on and a crazed man runs down the stairs screaming to hold the door for his family. Looks like I'll be spending the next few hours in Orange County devouring my caramel apple and celebrity stalking. I'm feeling pretty lucky after spotting Bach Pad's Kasey Kahl in Disneyland the other day.

I'm really glad we made the crazy last minute decision to come here. I loved going on storybook rides with my nieces and nephews and bonding with my lovely siblings. It was worth all the travel anxiety.

Now back to OK (if we can get there that is...) for a quiet Halloween with my husband and puppy. This year we'll have trick or treaters!

Hope you all have a deliciously creepy Halloween:)

a sleeping pup

As much as this little pup drives us crazy... we are sure going to miss her.
She is seriously the cutest little fur ball ever created.
And I fear her adorable puppy features will be gone soon.

Disneyland in the morning!!
I'm giddy.
But tonight I think I'll enjoy some Bluebell Banana Pudding and Sixth Sense.
The creepy lady with the slit wrists makes Jake cry.

Love Lockdown

1. My attempt at Gourmet... yummy grilled pear.
2. Jake's nerdy replacement glasses = Napoleon Dynamite.
3. Maizey loves to have her belly scratched.

Went and saw The Three Musketeers... AWFUL.
Soo cheesy. Orlando Bloom has hit rock bottom everyone.
Hollywood's got nothing on UST.

Sometimes military bases have "exercises" to simulate emergency situations.
Today's exercise happened to be a four hour radiation simulation.
No one is allowed to leave once it starts.
Poor Jake was stuck in the supply building with no lunch and no phone!
Meanwhile I caught up on my Pioneer Woman and Revenge episodes.
Don't worry I got some cleaning done too...

One day until Disneyland.

This gave me chills.
I LOVE THE SING OFF.

Mud.

Maizey was being a little poop yesterday.
Barking, biting, whining, peeing... twice.
I fell asleep reading The Dog Whisperer determined to make today a better day.
Maze and I awoke early and went on a lovely walk through our neighborhood.
The sun was rising, she was staying at my side, and the temperature was perfect.
I left her alone on her leash for a second and turned around to find her completely muddy,
Awww the joys of puppies.
Two days until Disneyland!

back in OK

Oh well, Hello!
The Kearns family is back in Oklahoma...and I'm liking it much better this time around.
My flights were amazingly smooth coming here. I was worried sick about bringing Maizey,
but she slept through both flights without a peep. Thank goodness for that.
She is loving Jake and he cannot get enough of her. I love having a little family.
Even though it's great being with the husband, I'm missing Idaho a lot.
I was there for a month but still feel like I didn't get to see all the people I wanted to.
(Wiricks... Stokey...Sister Laird)
The people I did see were amazing. I have some great friends and family.
Next weekend Jake and I are doing something crazy.
We're going to Disneyland. Yep.
Call us spoiled... we know that it's only been 6 months since our last visit,
but we can't help ourselves.
And after a miserable 3 months of leg injuries, hotel prisons, and time apart...
We deserve it.

tomorrowland

When goodbyes and packing are too much to bear... watch Mad Men.
Because Donald Draper will make you forget all of your worries and all of your stress
as he invites you into his world of thoughtless infatuation and stylish living.

Twigs and Homemade Caramel

1. Miss Maze fresh from the groomers! Don't worry, that bow lasted about five minutes.
2. Mckell and I twig hunting for caramel apples.
(that massive part of the tree fell down in the storm last weekend)
3. Twiggy Caramel Apples from Delia Creates, Yum!

too-chay

Went and saw Footloose the other night!
I loved it.
Julianne Hough was gorgeous.
Willard... hilarious.
I would suggest seeing it.
It didn't try to steal the original's glory,
it only brought it back with a modern twist.
I think I'll buy the soundtrack...

you-bee-tubey

Some videos that have brightened my day...

I mostly suppress the choir geek inside, but then good ol Eric brings it back to life...
then I watch this and end up crying... not tearing up, CRYING.
same with this one. why can't I be fearless like this child?

back in idaho

Sometimes I don't blog for a week... it's weird.
I guess family vacations do that to you. They're completely exhausting.
You learn some things about eachother. Awkward things.
And you ride on eachother's nerves until you want to scream.
After many tantrums and unruly behavior, you remember why you love them so much...
and that fighting together is better than getting along two thousand miles apart.

But now I'm back and it looks like I'm in Idaho for another few days...
I'm desperately missing my best friend but trying
to soak up every good thing about IF that I can.
I know I won't have an opportunity like this for a very long time.
Jacob has his first "solo" ride today,
meaning he'll be in the plane all by himself!
It's exciting stuff. At least to me.

My computer never turned on.
So I brought it into the mac surgeon and got some bad news.
Its water damage was not under warranty and it needs a $400 dollar fix.
Kill me.
I should not be allowed to handle any technology.
Because I'm a child.

Vampy Di's and Grey's eases the frustration.
Along with white hot chocolate and zucchini bread.
And I'll probably go see Footloose tonight.
I'm sure it will remind me of simpler times when my problems revolved around
Pre Calculus and controlling boyfriends.
Ohh those were the days...

4. The George, our waiter was adorably southern and the view was lovely.
5. Penne a la Vodka. Mhmmm

Hollywood East

Big Day... it started at 5 AM.
Wilmington is a beautiful place, just as I had imagined.
Definitely more to see here than Oklahoma... we'll have a busy busy week!
My poor macbook swallowed a bit of water today and is having a hard time recovering.
Please pray for it's safe recovery:) technology hates me.

Jake is doing well at IFS, he has flown a few times now and is catching on!
I can't imagine being in his position... I wish I could be there to cheer him up.
Needless to say he's the most brave and optimistic man I know and
I can not wait to see him. This month, although fun, just seems empty without him.

Lovely Monday.

1. I got to babysit the adorable Reagan yesterday.
2. Maizey and Mason are getting a long so much better!
3. Pumpkin painting with my some of my sisters while watching
The Sing Off. Go Vocal Point!

Today we prepare for our trip to North Carolina...
Really exciting!
I am going to miss my pup
but a trip to the beach will ease my pain...

See Ya'll!

An Autumn Sunday

A lovely General Conference Sunday.
Maizey and her razor sharp teeth enjoyed some tug of war
(my delicate fingers did not.)
and I enjoyed words of wisdom spoken by the brethren.
That prophet of ours is a funny guy.
Step mom Nicole made a fantastic Sabbath meal
complete with Orange Chocolate Cake. Yum.
I can't get over how perfect the weather is here...
(I sleep with the windows open. This cannot be Idaho in October.)
Looks like we'll be on a plane to NC right in time for it to change!
Hmmm another plane.
Oh it's worth it I guess :)

23

My birthday...
it was definitely strange and depressing without the hub,
but I had plenty of family and friends that showed me some love.
The evening started with an emotion bowl and ended with forever lazy.
Thanks for all of your birthday wishes!
