Baby Jake

Here comes the cold again... temps are dropping and snow is falling this week. And I have a small case of the Monday blues. It's just one of those average weeks where nothing big is happening, just mind numbing school and bone chilling weather :) But I'm determined to make it fantastic. I will go to the gym, I will eat healthier, I will not procrastinate. And anytime my spirits start to sink, I will look at this picture....

The Phaaaantom of the Opera is there...

Ohhhkay. So, Spring Break got even better. I've been wanting to see the Vegas Phantom for quite some time. What can I say, POTO has been a huge obsession of mine ever since the movie came out. I've seen it in NY, I've seen it in London, I cry every time... it's weird. The only thing that has been keeping me back from this one is the massive amount of money it takes to buy a pair of tickets. Well my lovely sister in law Ashley called me the other night and informed me of a 2 for 1 deal going on for Vegas locals. Needless to say I jumped on that bandwagon and bought Jake and I front row tickets. Can't wait till March 12th!

Lil Doman

It's a... girl! I knew it. Ally, my best friend, allowed me to sit in via speaker phone on her appointment this morning. I wanted to be there sooo bad, but at least this way I knew what they were having exactly when they did. Because I'm needy like that, and I am the third member of their relationship. Always have been, always will be :) Ohh summer please come sooner... I can't wait to meet the little pretty! Oh, and I'm already planning the baby shower, so friends of Al, keep your calenders open around the middle to end of May! Yay babies!

Least favorite part of the day: watching Jake vomit twice in one evening. It was the worst night ever. I just hope it was something he ate and not the flu....

Who is Sylvia?

Scenic Design, one of the classes this semester that gives me an anxiety attack. We started off with a 1/8 inch model, a tiny little living room, for the worst play ever written "The Goat." Here is my set!
Awwww, it's like Barbie dream house...! only ten times harder.

Little Tucker Troy

Last night I was finally able to meet my little cousin Tucker. After thirty hours of grueling labor and many nights in the nicu, he was able to go home. I love little babies! I can't wait to have my own SOMEDAY. It'll be great. Names I love...? Graham, Nora, Tristan, Willow (Lo for short), Quinn... yeah they are different, but I love it. That might be the order I want them too. Because my obsessive personality leads to me believe that I can control such things :)

Favorite thing that happened today: dinner at Kamin with Zella and Jess

Spring, Speed Up!

I am loving the lack of snow lately. I love being able to cross the quad and not worry about being soaked. I love the bright sun making it impossible to see where I'm going. Even though it will be short lived, I have enjoyed it immensely. So thank you Logan, UT, I think you're great.

Dancin Grandmas

These Golden Gals are the only reason I go to these games anymore. Okay, okay the team isn't too bad either... but they did make my weekend pretty swell, that along with a trip to Crystal Hot Springs, sleeping in, and a perfectly cooked pot roast. Gotta love weekends! P.S. I am bound and determined to make this week productive and fantastic. (I figure if I say it out loud it will actually happen) Goals this week include:

1. Meeting my newest cousin Tucker Troy
2. Getting this lazy bod in the gym
3. Sending a certain sister's birthday package
4. Catching up on all my homework
5. Seriously cutting down on the energy sucking television

Yes Please!

One week of sunshine, roller coasters, and family time coming up! Spring Break is around the corner, and we just finalized our plans at the happiest place on earth. Our cousins Maddie and Dan, sister Amy (and hopefully Court) are joining us for another adventure to Vegas and Disneyland. Last year was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again.            43 days!

Home!

Our last day

Wow... can't believe I'm home. I feel like I was in Beaver for weeks! Overall it was a fantastic experience, one I will never forget. It was a lot of hard work and long hours, which was good because it gave me a brand new perspective on things. I had the opportunity to spend time with the most fascinating people and see how life in the big leagues work, (which is exhausting to say the least). In the end I felt soo grateful for the lifestyle I have. Traveling around the country while working like crazy is not the career for me. Thank you so much Ashley, Carson, Kimberly, Glenn, and Krueger for such an amazing experience. I will share more details of the trip later when I've fully recovered :) I'm going to spend some quality time with Jake and my school work.

Mormon Whisperer

Longest day of my life ladies and gentlemen.

It's starts at 1:30 in the morning, my bed time. A half-hour later I wake up with violent chills that I cannot control for the life of me and life threatening stomach aches. The rest of the night consisted of me and the toliet. IT WAS AWFUL! Was it the flu? Food poisoning? Anxiety attack? No idea. But I gave up around 5:30 and decided to get ready for work.

It was a really long, cold, and fun day with the Carson Nation crew. I was so preoccupied this morning that I forgot my gloves and hat and it was reeeally cold. But that's my fault. Over all I got along with the crew really well and it was a blast meeting and hanging out with Carson Kressley. It's really quite bizarre to be around a celebrity all day. He was very nice and rather hilarious. He named off more than a dozen mormon jokes and I am now his "Mormon Whisperer." What can I say, these Hollywood people don't understand the concept of garments. ("We better cover up your arms then, so you don't get excommunicated!" -Carson). None of them made a whole lot of sense, but they were still entertaining. I can't believe I have THREE more days of this. I already feel like I've been there a month. I'll post more pictures of the cast/crew later. Someone push fast forward!

Beaver Here I Come...

Ohh here I go into the unknown.... it should be a very exciting weekend. I know it'll be hard work but that's just what I need. I will let you all known how it goes! Wish meeee luck :)

Tired

Well the first week is almost over... a lot of stress and frustration have gone into it. Whether it's paying 2,000 dollars for a couple of extra credits, missing my faraway sister, or having Jake pretty much fired because he can't work lunches this semester, we've seen it all. I know that somehow it will get all figured out but with the migraines and cold weather, I struggle to find the positive. I'm grateful for the Lord and his ability to help me find joy in the small things. I am however excited for my trip to Beaver tomorrow... and I think I have found a fantastic herbal medicine that helps with the arthritis and headaches. Anyone heard of Valerian? I hope it's a keeper.

Obsessed

Lately I've been obsessed with puppy planning... I know we won't be getting one for several months but it's never too early to start planning. My new favorites are Maltipoos and Morkies. I think they are so cute. But so expensive.

Doesn't she look like a golden mini Chewbacca?

The end...

Oh boy, the break is over. I wish I could say things will be slowing down now, but they're most definitely not. I got an email a few days ago and received a notice that the OWN network is looking for some personal assistants for an episode of "Carson-Nation" (a makeover show hosted by Carson Kressley). I called the production manager and long story short, I got the job. I will be a wardrobe assistant for Carson-Nation next weekend in Beaver, UT! I'm really excited/nervous. I'll definitely take lots of pictures and blog about my experience.

Now on to school.... I'm trying to keep the anxiety spasms to a minimum. This is my last semester and I just need to relax and enjoy it. Right? We've cleaned the house, stocked up on notebooks and groceries and I think we're ready to rumble. Here are my classes this semester:

Textile Science
Period Pattern Drafting
Scenic Design
Design Studies
Shakespeare (kill me)
Practicum/Run Crew
Assist. Design for The Three Musketeers
Don't forget the hundred + hours in the shop :)

Whew. That actually makes me feel better. Anyone know a good Shakespeare tutor in Logan? 55 days till Spring Break!

Resolutions

A new year is hereeee and things are already changing drastically. Lauren left for N Carolina yesterday, which hasn't really hit me yet, it probably will in the coming week. Which brings me to school, 22 credits of it. It seems impossible that it's already here but I get through it right? There a lot of things I want to change in order to do so. Here are my resolutions to get through the new year...

1. Yoga and work outs twice a week. Drink lots of water.
2. Be organized. NO procrastinating. Get it done early and take time to make it great.
3. Read the Book of Mormon, listen at church, and write in journal.
4. Healthy Diet, no junk food. Avoid Gluten. More Protein.
5. Budget and save money. Cut back on eating out and energy/ gas use.
6. Go to bed earlier, wake up earlier. Stretch and meditate morning and night.
7. Relax and don't sweat the small stuff. Look at the big picture.
8. Have a positive attitude and find joy in everything. NO gossiping and NO assumptions.
9. Be honest, be myself, and stop trying to impress other people. Don't take anything personally.
10. Be a better wife, daughter, friend, ward member and future mom.

P.S. Want some inspiration and self motivation for your new year? Read the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz or listen to it via iTunes, I loveee it.

Christmas seems like forever ago, (despite the fact that my Christmas tree is still up, rotting I'm sure) and I finally got some pictures to show for it.

A Fresh Start

Some things I'm looking forward to this year...

1. My LAST semester of college. For the time being.
2. The last remaining weeks of my last Utah winter. (for a while anyway...)
3. Spring.. then Summer.
4. Graduation.
5. Moving to Oklahoma, it will be soo hard but soo exciting.
6. Seeing Jake become a pilot
7. Bringing a new member to our family.... a puppy! (let's not get too hasty folks)
8. Gaining new nieces/nephews (Ash, Ally, Candace, Michelle, possibly Julie..?)
9. A vacation to California and Disneyland. It will happen I just know it.
10. Starting a new stage in my life. The official adulthood. Out of the bubble. On our own. No turning back.

Wow... that's a lot of changes people. It will be very interesting to see where I'll be a year from now and I'll need plenty of New Years resolutions to get me through it... you'll be seeing those up later.

2011... weird.

Can't believe the new year is here... we've had a fantastic weekend thus far in Draper. As always Bailey and Davis make things rather entertaining and I am now engrossed in the second Hunger Games book. We went ice skating yesterday with the kids and last night we enjoyed foods from lots of different countries, it was a lovely party :) Happy New Year!
