telegrams

This week was a slow one.
Hence the lack of instagrams.
Nick won Bachelor Pad.
That was bizarre and uncomfortable.
Parenthood started. That was probably the highlight of the week.
Then it started to rain... it rained a lot.
Jake left for his cross country this weekend,
he went to New Mexico and Utah.
I had a lovely weekend with the girls, indulging in crafts
romantic comedies and sweets.

1. Football watching with snuggle muffin.
3. Jake leaving for Cross Country.
4. RIP Polar Bear.

Throwback Thursday

Sometimes my sister writes nice things about me on her blog.
So I'll do the same.
Lauren lives in Wilmington and last month she FINALLY started
her film program. I couldn't be more excited for her!
Not only is she doing that but she's working
and fulfilling her call as Relief Society President.
Basically she's a rock star.

p.s. Lauren, nice hair clips...

Fall Favorites

1. Sweaters and Tights. Too bad it's not nearly cold enough... a girl can dream. (via)

2. Carrot Cake ice cream. Tastes like Fall. You have to try it.

3. Planning my birthday party... I'm a bit obsessed.  (via)

4. Polka Dots and Pumpkin.

Reba

Remember that little gelato place I told you about?
Well we went again. This time we took Rockin Red Reba.
We fit right in with the locals...it was amazing.
I'll definitely be back for the pear and rhubarb
...and maybe tomorrow for the peach.

Eleven years ago I was in an early morning piano class,
when my mom rushed in and broke the news to my teacher and I.
Our country was under attack. I sat in shock and awe that something like this
could happen. Watching the attacks happen on tv seemed like some cruel joke.
It was unbelievable.
At thirteen years old, I thought the world revolved around me
and my boy problems. That day, everything changed.
I'm grateful for the firemen, policemen and soldiers
that fight every day to protect our freedom and safety,
and for the loved ones who stand beside them.

Movie Monday

In case you missed it.

Fall may be my favorite season but it does have one small fault.
Football.
Look, I have no problem with the sport. I enjoy going to football games, I even begged to play with the boys back at Sunnyside Elementary and told the teach when they wouldn't let a girl on the team.
But.
Men are WAY too passionate about it.
I get that girls have their reality shows, and their "Project Runway" that they get into,
but I don't take it personally. They do. It's emotional for them.
It's like they're a part of the team.
I mean Jake has never even attended BYU, but its in his blood.
He lives for it. He was counting down months in advance.
And honestly, I'm happy for him, but when his team isn't doing well, it's very difficult to be in the same room.

So, when our Alma mater was neck and neck with his least favorite team...
Things were getting ugly.
Luckily I found out moments before our DVR caught up that we were going to win.
So I caught his reaction on tape.

If only he'd get this passionate about my fall wardrobe...

telegrams

It was a very lazy week.
I didn't go to the gym once. Whoops...
But we had a lovely weekend.
Jake spent way too much money at P.F. Changs
and I spent way too much money on clothes.
Not actually, I spent just enough :)

1. How we spent our anniversary, making our favorite
Apricot Chicken with Strawberry Lemonade... yum.
2. One of my anniversary presents! Jake booked a massage for me.
I was surprised to say the least... I guess this boy is starting to learn.
(He also wrote me a song. Something I've been begging for since we started dating.)
3. We have the best little gelato shop right outside of town,
homemade and fresh every day!
4. Nap time on the new pillow.
5. First chowder of the season... tastes like fall.

Flashback Friday

I'm obsessed with old photos.
I found these of my grandpa Baty and my dad while I was
rummaging through my grandparents house last month.
Isn't my dad a cutie? And my grandpa... such a stud.
Black and white photos are so beautiful.
I wish we took more pictures like this.

A Day at the Park

Last Sunday, we took our niece and nephews to the park.
It's becoming a bit of a tradition.
It was super hot but those Texas kids don't care.
We sort of like them.

Thanks for all the Anniversary wishes!

Three Years

Three Years. That's right.
We're built to last people.
Jake and I have had our good times and bad times
but at the end of the day, I have no doubt that
we made the right decision. We were young, it's true,
but there's no one else I'd rather grow up with.

While in Dallas, my brother and sister-in-law
gave us some video footage from our special day.
Best anniversary gift ever!

(Beware. There is extensive dancing footage.
So relax, get comfortable... and enjoy.)

 Happy Anniversary my love!

Telegrams

Hope you all had a loveeeely holiday weekend.
Mine was spent in Texas. As all good weekends are.
Holding babies and inhaling special treats.
It was very hot but we enjoyed seeing our niece and nephews,
and Julie and Marc of course!

1. The sweetest sisters.
2. An afternoon well spent. Thank you Hastings.
3. Babysitting our favorite gingers.
4. Lazy dinner. Our favorite pizza? BBQ chicken.
5. My collage is finished! Only took me a year.
Also finished my chevron pillow and shampooed the carpets.
I pretty much owned that living room Friday.
6. Galleria mall, one of the finest I've seen.
7. He looks good holding that baby...
8. Bahama Bucks. I slurped down that snocone in five minutes flat.
9. Joshie's boo boo lip. My heart melts for those little boys.
10. Doggie kisses. More like Maizey attacking Tag and Tag loving it.
11. Cracker Barrel candy sticks!
12. Visiting Marc's office.

Tomorrow is our anniversary. My love and I have been married for three years.

The day before my wedding was spent going to classes and rushing to
Idaho Falls with Jake and Rachael.
When I got there, my sisters and I got pedi's and
I went out to Carino's with my girlfriends.
I was extremely emotional that night, and stressed.
I also had a baaad cold. Which is probably why I looked so
red and puffy on my wedding day,
well that and Accutane. Yuck.
There wasn't much sleep that night but as soon as I saw
Jake the next morning outside the temple
I felt calm and floaty.

He still makes me feel that way.
