Series Premiere

Back in January, I had the opportunity to work for the OWN network on the "Carson Nation" show. It was probably one of the nuttier things I've done... but so worth it. Well now it's FINALLY premiering!! I've been watching the trailers and sneak peeks all week, and today I saw this picture on http://www.oprah.com/own of my friends Ashley and Carson...
No big deal, I know them... Tonight's episode is in Eureka, California. I'll let you know when the Beaver, Utah episode is! But naturally you'll record and watch all of them... right?

Home!

Our last day

Wow... can't believe I'm home. I feel like I was in Beaver for weeks! Overall it was a fantastic experience, one I will never forget. It was a lot of hard work and long hours, which was good because it gave me a brand new perspective on things. I had the opportunity to spend time with the most fascinating people and see how life in the big leagues work, (which is exhausting to say the least). In the end I felt soo grateful for the lifestyle I have. Traveling around the country while working like crazy is not the career for me. Thank you so much Ashley, Carson, Kimberly, Glenn, and Krueger for such an amazing experience. I will share more details of the trip later when I've fully recovered :) I'm going to spend some quality time with Jake and my school work.

Mormon Whisperer

Longest day of my life ladies and gentlemen.

It's starts at 1:30 in the morning, my bed time. A half-hour later I wake up with violent chills that I cannot control for the life of me and life threatening stomach aches. The rest of the night consisted of me and the toliet. IT WAS AWFUL! Was it the flu? Food poisoning? Anxiety attack? No idea. But I gave up around 5:30 and decided to get ready for work.

It was a really long, cold, and fun day with the Carson Nation crew. I was so preoccupied this morning that I forgot my gloves and hat and it was reeeally cold. But that's my fault. Over all I got along with the crew really well and it was a blast meeting and hanging out with Carson Kressley. It's really quite bizarre to be around a celebrity all day. He was very nice and rather hilarious. He named off more than a dozen mormon jokes and I am now his "Mormon Whisperer." What can I say, these Hollywood people don't understand the concept of garments. ("We better cover up your arms then, so you don't get excommunicated!" -Carson). None of them made a whole lot of sense, but they were still entertaining. I can't believe I have THREE more days of this. I already feel like I've been there a month. I'll post more pictures of the cast/crew later. Someone push fast forward!

The end...

Oh boy, the break is over. I wish I could say things will be slowing down now, but they're most definitely not. I got an email a few days ago and received a notice that the OWN network is looking for some personal assistants for an episode of "Carson-Nation" (a makeover show hosted by Carson Kressley). I called the production manager and long story short, I got the job. I will be a wardrobe assistant for Carson-Nation next weekend in Beaver, UT! I'm really excited/nervous. I'll definitely take lots of pictures and blog about my experience.

Now on to school.... I'm trying to keep the anxiety spasms to a minimum. This is my last semester and I just need to relax and enjoy it. Right? We've cleaned the house, stocked up on notebooks and groceries and I think we're ready to rumble. Here are my classes this semester:

Textile Science
Period Pattern Drafting
Scenic Design
Design Studies
Shakespeare (kill me)
Practicum/Run Crew
Assist. Design for The Three Musketeers
Don't forget the hundred + hours in the shop :)

Whew. That actually makes me feel better. Anyone know a good Shakespeare tutor in Logan? 55 days till Spring Break!
